Release Notes

v0.2.0

This version fixes a nasty segfault that can appear when animating large titles.
Also, Guillaume Cottenceau of Frozen Bubble fame has contributed exciting new
features: text outlining with adjustable width and color as well as fade in/out!

v0.1.1

This version of dvtitler is much improved over previous versions. Besides
other compilation fixes, you no longer need to supply a --with-fontpath to
configure. Rather, this uses the fontconfig system built into GTK2. This
should "just work" for most people, but still do not expect non-TrueType
or non-PostScript typefaces to work.

Since this version uses Pango for text layout it supports
internationalisation--right click in the text box to choose the input method.
If line spacing does not work as expected it is due to an older version of
the Pango FreeType2 rendering backend that does not support. New versions
are supposed to work, but it is untested. Finally, the text input accepts
Pango markup. You can change font face, sizes, and styles within the title.
However, it does not support the markup attributes for color. See the Pango
documentation for more information on markup:
http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/pango/PangoMarkupFormat.html

Finally, it supports field-based rendering for superior quality output. If
you plan to export back to the camera, SVCD, or DVD-Video, then you should
preserve interlace (do not choose a deinterlace option in Export/MPEG or
Export/DV Pipe). Likewise, you want to leave the "Interlaced?" checkbox
selected in dvtitler. However, if you plan to export as DivX/MPEG-4, then
deselect this option.
